WIP. It’s been a long time since I’ve done anything grayscale.
The hands on this piece make me want to hang myself, but I think I’m finally gaining some understanding on rendering clothing, which was the real goal of all these “Rod Doing Stuff On White Background” pieces anyways. Probably gonna do a few more, and then I’ll get back to background/location work.
And here’s this thing, which I’m never finishing. More Hotrod stuff. Sans precambrian life and a character in the center because IT’S JUST NOT GONNA HAPPEN MAN.
Going out of town, back on monday/tuesday. Here’s this thing so far, maybe 2 or 3 hours in. THE UPDATE YOU WERE ALL WAITING FOR. Maybe someone somewhere will find the process(?) thus far vaguely interesting. See you next week.
Rod pretty much says it all. The way I approach wrinkles right now is super weak, so I’m thinking I’m gonna do a couple more of these to try to figure this mess out. As always I bailed out on the Hawaiian shirt he’s supposed to have ontop of his clothes, Hopefully I can get it handled for the next study.
A teeny tiny thumb so as not to completely steal the thunder of the finished piece. I have a long way to go artistically, but I do have to say that it’s pretty rewarding to hit that point where I can visually represent stuff I’ve been thinking about for years now.

VARIOUS (POSTED) CONTENTS IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER
Next time I’ll just tag all the individual posts properly so that can serve as a sketchbook index instead.
